Master Gudo Wafu Nishijima, the founder of Dogen Sangha, passed away in Tokyo on January 28, 2014 after a three year illness. He passed away quietly in his sleep at the hospital where he was being cared for. The cause of his death was pneumonia. His passing came as very sad news for his family and everyone who knew and loved him all over the world. He lived a very full and happy life, and we hope his spirit and teachings will live on for many years to come.
